Bespoke seafood processing facility

We adapted our existing skills working with food manufacturing machinery to help develop the processing facility that delivers fresh seafood direct from the quayside into Morrisons stores nationwide. Our client’s aim was to reduce the time from ‘Catch to Kitchen’.

This redevelopment is Morrisons second manufacturing facility in Grimsby and the largest facility of its type in Europe, providing 200 additional jobs.

Achieving the desired internal environment was impossible within the constraints of the existing processing centre, so we planned substantial extensions and internal alterations to the existing factory, including underground drainage and staff access. Having met current demand, we future-proofed further expansion by securing planning approval for an additional 4,600 sq.m. extension.

We incorporated specialist input from Morrisons professional team to adequately address their higher risk processes and agreed a programme of phased construction delivery.
