We are delighted to announce that after two and a half years of discussions and negotiations through the planning process, Waterside Way in Wakefield finally received planning approval at July’s Plans Panel. The site is in a perfect city centre location, close to the Hepworth Gallery and aligns with Wakefield’s Strategic Development Plans. The approval comprises 30 bespoke high-quality family dwellings with waterfront aspects, several office/workshop units, a nature reserve overlooking a listed lock, and new footpaths, towpaths and cycleways to the adjacent canal and rivers. Although the existing site is constrained by several challenging factors, the design team worked tirelessly to agree the necessary in-depth technical solutions through careful discussions with the Local Authority planning department and specialist consultees. A fantastic result following collective dedication from all associated parties.
