The 26th of June 2025 was a personal milestone for Living Sector Director Richard Merrills, marking his 25th anniversary working for Watson Batty Architects.
Richard joined the practice full-time on 26th June 2000, barely pausing for breath following completion of his final degree at Newcastle University. He has played an important role in growing the business, in particular leading the development of the busy Living sector.
Richard says, “During my 25 years at Watson Batty, my hairline, waistline and worry lines have all changed, but my passion for ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to our clients has never altered. I am very proud to have overseen our Living sector project turnover increase from zero to £1.1million. I have a fantastic team to thank for their support and dedication in making this happen.
The future is very bright for the business, with a healthy workload of live projects and exciting range of new opportunities in the pipeline. I am already looking forward to celebrating 30 years!“
