“Functional yet beautifully formed architecture creates spaces for people to fully interact.”

I joined Watson Batty in 2022.

I have become immersed in the living and later living & care sectors, refining my design skills on large housing developments, bespoke houses, extensions, retirement living, and community projects.

I became an architect to combine my passions for creative artistry and mathematical geometry. I believe a building should be sympathetically designed to respond to its environment and users.

Post-pandemic, there is an acute need for better designed communal spaces and open green space for people to exercise and play, to improve their quality of life.

I think an architect’s skills are truly tested in conservation and heritage. It’s a challenge to re-purpose and improve the energy efficiency of existing structures without over-specifying. We must weigh up the potential impacts of our architectural choices, and consider cost-efficient alternative materials, technologies, and specifications which prioritise renewable resources.
