Skipton Properties has an excellent reputation for constructing high-quality, desirable residential developments. Building on their specialism in traditional family housing, they have been developing a more diverse portfolio to respond to changing market demands. Recent works include sensitive refurbishment projects using some exciting contemporary design ideas. Working in partnership since 2011, we have been supporting their growth by providing creative architectural design for unique schemes that demonstrate outstanding craftsmanship and a distinct response to local settings.
A small development of eight detached stone-built contemporary homes that transform a disused, derelict former council site. The bespoke designs were inspired by traditional barn architecture and incorporate floor-to-ceiling corner windows to maximise light and views towards the tree-lined riverbank.
Public consultation helped inform the design of this outstanding development of 98 two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes. Our sensitive handling of the site enhances the local landscape and successfully maintains the Jenny Beck area as a wildlife destination.
Arranged around a private courtyard, the multi-storey homes are constructed from natural stone and slate and framed by traditional dry-stone walls. The mix of 6no. three-, four- and five-bed properties sits harmoniously within the landscape and reflects the local vernacular style of construction.
A larger development featuring the conversion and extension of an original grade II listed mill into 44 modern retirement living apartments, alongside 77 new build natural stone family homes with natural slate roofs. The creation of over 25,000 sq.ft. of new industrial commercial premises for two local businesses secures the long-term future of the mill. The new Bridgehouse Beck Park provides public amenity space and recreational facilities whilst improving Haworth’s flood defences.
Award-winning courtyard development of new build homes and the conversion/adaptation of the former Kearns Mill Gate House into residences. The 22 detached two- and three-storey, four- and five-bed family homes include the use of several bespoke house types that offer private stables and pastures in this rural location.
