Fire-damaged factory redevelopment

We were appointed to redevelop the bread factory in Wakefield, following the destruction of a large, original section during a catastrophic fire in 2016.

Our familiarity with Morrisons’ needs, and experience of fast-track construction techniques, meant we could step in quickly to deliver a new 6,500 sq.m. building to a tight programme and budget. We oversaw temporary works to maintain bread production whilst helping to develop the correct specification for the new facility. Our valuable knowledge of food production buildings helped us produce accurately detailed room data sheets.

We successfully achieved planning approval before developing the construction information for the main contractor. We also played a fundamental co-ordination role during the installation of specialist equipment and services post-construction.
