A fabric-first approach to minimise energy consumption and increase long-term sustainability.
This 72-bed care home for Torsion Care on the former Stoney Ridge Hospital site was completed in 2024.
On a prominent roadside location close to the market town of Bingley and the cultural town of Bradford, the development responds to an acute need for ‘future-fit’ beds in the area. Communal resident amenities include a cafe, cinema room, activity room, and life-skills lounge.
Many bedrooms offer beautiful valley views, while a semi-private first-floor balcony terrace allows residents to socialise with visitors whilst overlooking the secure landscaped gardens. Boosting the residents’ connections to the wider landscape has a positive effect on health and mental wellbeing. The project will achieve BREEAM Very Good.
