Over the last thirty years, Wharfedale Homes have become specialists in building small to medium-sized developments in North Yorkshire towns and villages, meeting local demand for high quality housing for communities.
Over the last two years, we have been supporting them with the delivery of design-led, energy efficient homes that have lower running costs and energy consumption.
To form a private paddock around a historic brewery house, we have designed three new bespoke detached dwellings and are remodelling the existing structure to create a home, through part-demolition and rebuild. The 4 and 5 bed homes have above-garage live/work accommodation, enclosed garden spaces, and we have improved access visibility. Working with planning, highways and heritage specialists, our design sensitively respects the village location and the historic monument of Sheriff Hutton Castle.
On the fringes of the town, this large allocated development is a 70:30 mix of two, three, and four bed high quality private sale and affordable homes. Due to unique noise pollution issues caused by RAF Leeming and the busy A1 motorway corridor, we worked with specialist consultants to mitigate noise pollution. During an intense planning application process, the design team overcame the site’s technical challenges. The scheme received unanimous support from the planning committee at Hambleton District Council, which was just reward for a fantastic team effort.
