Architectural Technologist

“No two projects are ever the same, and there is never a dull moment.”

I joined Watson Batty in 2013.

My role as an architectural technologist began in the education sector, but I have worked in all sectors. I specialise in large industrial schemes, food manufacturing, and distribution centres, often developing projects to suit delivery in a live environment. Previously working for a contractor has improved my ability to understand priorities from a client’s perspective.

Producing technical drawings at secondary school sparked my interest in architecture. I began investigating building types, feeling particularly inspired by the scale and drama of football stadia. Architecture is a varied and interesting discipline that affects every aspect of daily life. As the construction industry is under extreme pressure to reduce carbon emissions, I am excited to see what this will mean in terms of material re-use, specification changes, and the physical appearance of future buildings.
