Picturesque Green Lane, Glusburn, a Skipton Properties Development

Situated in the picturesque Airedale Valley, Watson Batty Architects are delighted to be working with Skipton Properties on this new development on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales. Consisting of a range of beautiful 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, this high quality designed housing scheme is in the heart of Glusburn Village. Containing 37 no properties, the new homes have been built from random natural stone with traditional features such as stone corbels, mullioned windows and door surrounds.

Marking the initial phase of a two phased project, the site has access from both Green Lane and Black Abbey Lane. Due to the sensitive nature of the site with residents believing an urban development would ruin the rural outlook, proactive and diligent work was required by the project team to allow for full planning approval to be successfully granted in 2015.

The use of natural materials respects the existing character of the nearby surrounding agricultural and residential properties. Public open amenity space and additional car parking has been included for the use of local residents and neighbours.

Work began on site in Autumn 2017 with completion due Summer 2019.
