In conjunction with Leeds City Council & Interserve Construction Ltd, Watson Batty Architects are pleased to showcase the planning submission for a new annex block to the existing Hollybush Primary School. Located in North West Leeds, the proposal will provide the school with additional classroom teaching space, group breakout areas, a new double height multipurpose hall space & ancillary spaces.
Constructed predominately of brickwork, the building will have floor to ceiling glazing, flooding the classrooms with natural daylight while the colored panels will give the facade a playful touch. High level openable windows provides natural ventilation, whilst a louvre creates a secure barrier for the large openable window behind, again utilizing the natural ventilation when the weather permits!
WBA are using BIM to develop the technical information and co-ordination with the wider members of the design team, to enable a streamlined work stream in conjunction with the contractors programme.
The planning decision is due mid December 2016, with the contractor aiming to starting on site within the first week of 2017. The building will be available for students at the beginning of September 2017.
