On almost every job we work on as Architects, there is a satisfactory moment when we see our vision; formed on screen and paper, begin to emerge into reality. This moment of satisfaction has been particularly intense as we see our Paddington Village masterplan for Liverpool City Council rise from the ground and begin to take form.
In 2014, Watson Batty Architects worked alongside Liverpool City Council to create an 11 Hectare city centre masterplan vision to expand the City’s Knowledge Quarter. The development would be a ground breaking center of a expertise, knowledge and wealth creating potential, specialising in Life, Medical Science and related high tech industries.
We are thrilled to see the infrastructure works alongside 3 major buildings under construction. With 2 further major developments in the planning, including a landmark hotel building, Paddington Village is set to be a top class destination with national significance.
Scott Lunn, who created the masterplan vision said, “It is exciting to see the construction work progressing. A great deal of thought and consideration was put into establishing guiding principles for the development. It is pleasing to see these strategic principles being maintained as the scheme design progresses with the individual building designs responding creatively to the masterplan context”.
