Last week was a week for celebrating when two of our new build residential schemes received planning approval at the Chesterfield Committee meeting. Both were for our long-standing client, Starfish Group but represented very different local planning issues and design challenges.
The Brockwell Court site delivers an exciting courtyard of 21no affordable homes for Chesterfield Council. The two and three storey family units will be delivered utilising the Ilke Homes modular-build product. This strategy was well received by the planning committee and local residents at the meeting as it helps minimise the length of the construction activity on site thus minimising disruption and noise for occupants of the adjacent buildings. This scheme is part of the Council’s commitment to deliver much needed excellent new homes for rent in the area and satisfy their desire to deliver via new procurement routes and build techniques.
Loundsley Green Road is a 13-unit development, located in a woodland setting, proposing a series of high quality bespoke four and five bed detached homes in partnership with a local developer. We received excellent feedback from the planning committee for the design of the new development as well as special praise for our teams’ approach to guaranteeing the long-term future maintenance and ecological improvement in the adjacent woodland area.
Both schemes will be starting on site later in the year.
