Blissful Progress at St. Saviour’s Church as Steelwork Goes Up

Construction work at St Saviour’s Church in Acton, London, is progressing according to programme. Installation of temporary steel structure has been a crucial stage of works on site to support the existing structural walls for this Grade II Listed building prior to the commencement of the demolition works and installation of the main structural steel members.

Progress on site, despite its complexity, has clearly benefited from a strong and successful collaboration between client and construction team members since its commencement on site.

When completed, the development will include the full conservation of the church on the first floor and extensive alterations at ground floor level. The first floor will be maintained as existing with the ground floor having extensive alterations to open the main hall and the adjacent rooms into one large prayer hall accommodating up to 350 people. The building will maintain its use as a church for the Syriac Orthodox Community in London.

Work is due for completion in Autumn 2016.
