Permission Granted for Temple Learning Academy

Planning permission has been given by Leeds City Council allowing the conversion of the former East Leeds Leisure Centre into a through-school catering for 1020 pupils. Work is expected to start on site with contractor ISG early 2016. The proposals will see the existing swimming pool hall demolished to make way for a 3 storey teaching block. The remaining elements of the existing building will be retained and refurbished to provide, dining, sports and learning spaces for the school which will also be available for out of hours use by the wider community.

Although pupils are already occupying part of the existing building it is expected the new build facilities will be complete and open in 2017.
