This June, a dedicated team from Watson Batty Architects are showing their support in fighting Cancer by fundraising for ‘Walking All Over Cancer’, the latest campaign to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.
With Cancer survival rates having doubled over the past 40 years, our fundraising team of walkers want to do their bit and support Cancer Research UK in their ground-breaking research to help improve results even faster.
Our Interior specialist Gemma Patefield is leading the campaign and has gathered a team of 13 keen walkers, the ‘Walking WATBATS’, to be put through their paces in the attempt to walk 10,000 steps a day through all of June, all to help beat cancer.
With a leader board keeping track, the competitive streak in many is starting to show and our Walking WATBATS are pushing themselves daily to beat their weekly target of 910,000! Laps of the office, lunchtime strolls and after work runs are tallying up their daily steps and with the first week total reaching an incredible 1,090,772 steps, the team are doing a great job in truly ‘Walking all Over Cancer’. It’s early days but it seems our Managing Director Peter White is the one to beat, having ranked up a total of 124,856 steps in his 1st week alone!
The whole practice is behind our Walking WATBATS every step of the way, and if you would like to show your support, please follow the link https://goo.gl/n1OL4i to donate.
Thank for your generosity and good luck to our walkers!
