“Any design and build project is no short-term affair. Forging a strong bond between all parties: that’s the key.”

“I joined the Practice back in 2002, and, by 2007 I made Practice Manager. But a major, unexpected, turning point came in 2009, when my ongoing work for our long-term client, Royal Mail, led me to be seconded to the Group as a Project Manager. It was a great challenge and brought a whole new dimension to the traditional role of the architect.”

“In effect, I’m the glue between client and Practice. My remit covers every aspect of the process. At the top level, I’m responsible for the delivery of all major Royal Mail projects, including new builds, refurbishments and property disposals. I manage external consultants, contractors and other stakeholders while juggling the critical issues of compliance, governance and due diligence.”

“On reflection, what drives me in all this is the opportunity to make a lasting positive impact on our built environment. And working so closely with the client gives me the privileged position to properly grasp their expectations and, hopefully, far exceed them.”
